My name is Litzy Baeza and I use the pronouns (she/her).
I am a proud Chilean educator and consultant with deep roots in the Mapuche and Araucania peoples, and the daughter of political exiles whose journey has shaped my perspective on resilience, identity, and social justice.
My career spans over a decade of dedicated work in gender equity, diversity, and inclusion, alongside cross-cultural and intercultural communication. This passion has taken me across borders, where I've collaborated with academic institutions and organizations throughout Chile, Mexico, and Cuba, bringing a truly global perspective to my practice.
When I'm not immersed in my professional work, I share my home with two incredible Cuban companions—Tuto and Japy—whose boundless energy and joy remind me daily of life's simple pleasures and the universal language of love that transcends all borders.

Preserving and celebrating Chilean history and culture remains at the heart of my work. For more than ten years, I've led and contributed to projects documenting the Chilean exile experience, helping to safeguard these vital stories for our community in Edmonton and across Canada.
I'm currently working on a book about my transformative experiences living and working in Cuba—a project that promises to offer unique insights into cross-cultural adaptation and professional growth. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting endeavour.

International Development

Worked with the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) in Cuba helping to promote the inclusion of women in technical and vocational training for the Ministry of Mines and Energy.
Worked with Global Affairs Canada (GAC) in Colombia helping to train workers from the Ministry of Energy and Mines in implementing a gender mainstreaming strategy for the promotion of women in this industry.
TVET Institutional Strengthening Project in Cuba delivered by NAIT.
Developed a Gender Mainstreaming Strategy for the United Nations, International Civil Aviation Organization.
